Holy Drone - 'Fibres'
Insightful fuzzy dream pop from Warrington's quintet Holy Drone; 'Fibres' delve into the strange feeling of optimism that we surround ourselves within lockdown.
Taking inspiration from the likes of Cocteau Twins and My Bloody Valentine, the band have architected heavenly riffs and, piquant enthral vocals that become a blissful eternal listen. Written during a happy period of the first lockdown - the band quick action to bring optimism to life throughout 'Fibres' is a perfect fitting to us going into another lockdown.
Following on from their previous singles 'Sleeping Silver' and 'Radio Song', 'Fibres' is the band’s first release since 2019 that signals a new direction as a band. Through simple instrumentals and hypnotic soundscape, the track creates an atmospheric feeling of warmth emphasised by the opening line: 'You are my sunshine, safe in my hands'.
From gaining attention with the likes of BBC Introducing to Amazing Radio, the female-fronted band new phase is going to take them into 2021 as a force to be reckoned with.
